The Ability Development Society of Nepal (ADSoN) is non-profit making and non-governmental national level organization working for the empowerment of the Persons with Disabilities and marginalized communities. Established on Jestha 12, 2071 (May 26, 2014), ADSoN has been tirelessly working to uplift lives and create an inclusive society where everyone has equal opportunities to thrive. With its roots in Kathmandu, Sukedhara, and proudly registered with the District Administrative Office and affiliated with the Social Welfare Council (SWC) on Ashad 12, 2071 (June 26, 2014), ADSoN is equipped with both the heart and resources to drive meaningful change. Job positions:

1. Project Manager / Director (1 position):

The Project Manager will oversee planning, implementation, and monitoring of the Education, Rehabilitation & Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities Project. They will ensure effective coordination with stakeholders, manage resources efficiently, and lead the team toward achieving project goals. The role requires strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills to drive impactful outcomes for individuals with disabilities.

Key Performance Areas and Main Responsibilities

  • Design, evaluate, and implement existing programs, policies, strategic plans, and budgets.
  • Prepare grant applications and develop new programs under the guidance of the Executive Committee.
  • Create and present ADSoN’s program profiles to the Social Welfare Council and other government entities.
  • Build strong interpersonal relationships and effectively communicate ADSoN’s vision to potential donors and funders.
  • Assist the Executive Director with program budgeting, maintaining board relationships, and managing organizational funders.
  • Represent ADSoN in meetings and events with local partners, government agencies, and stakeholders.
  • Travel regionally to build and maintain relationships with partner organizations and donors.
  • Draft and maintain accurate documents, reports, and correspondence for conferences, seminars, and presentations.
  • All the administrative works and HR affairs of ADSoN should be recorded and implemented properly.
  • Ensure compliance to the country’s law and registration as well as SOP, Bylaws, financial Bylaws and regulations of ADSoN.
  • Write and oversee the creation of grant proposals to secure funding in alignment with organizational budgets and goals.
  • Perform additional tasks assigned by the ADSoN Executive Committee.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in the relevant field, such as Development Studies, Social Sciences, Management, Public Health, Education, Employability/Entrepreneurship, etc.
  • At least 2 – 3 years of experience in program management and coordination, particularly in areas like Education, Rehabilitation, Livelihood, Disability, Health, Nutrition, and Local Governance.
  • Strong knowledge of policies, regulations, and frameworks related to Children, Disabilities, etc.
  • Proven experience in local-level stakeholder engagement, partnership building, and resource mobilization.
  • Proficiency in English and Nepali with excellent communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in report writing and developing project proposal.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, effective communication, interpersonal skills, and a positive attitude.

2. Public Relation & Fund Development Manager / Director (1 position)

The Public Relation & Fund Development Manager will lead efforts to build and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders, donors, and the community. They will design and implement fundraising strategies, oversee communication campaigns, and enhance the organization’s visibility. This role requires excellent communication skills, creativity, and a passion for advocating the mission of empowering persons with disabilities.

Key Performance Areas and Main Responsibilities

  • Design and execute comprehensive fundraising strategies to secure funds from diverse sources, including grants, donors, and sponsorships.
  • Write compelling grant proposals and funding applications aligned with ADSoN’s goals and budget needs.
  • Build partnerships with potential donors, corporations, and community organizations to ensure sustainable funding.
  • Represent ADSoN in public forums, meetings, and events to promote its mission and activities.
  • Develop and disseminate newsletters, press releases, and impactful social media content to increase the organization’s visibility and engagement.
  • Maintain positive relationships with media outlets, stakeholders, and government bodies.
  • Advocate for ADSoN’s programs, focusing on the rights and inclusion of persons with disabilities, to stakeholders and policymakers.
  • Organize awareness campaigns, workshops, and events to highlight key issues and ADSoN’s role in addressing them.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with government agencies, community leaders, NGOs, and private sector entities.
  • Represent ADSoN in local and regional meetings, ensuring effective collaboration and partnership-building.
  • Track and report on fundraising performance and public relations efforts.
  • Provide timely updates to the Executive Committee, including financial forecasts, donor reports, and engagement outcomes.
  • Train and mentor staff on fundraising, advocacy, and communication techniques.
  • Coordinate closely with other departments to align public relations and fundraising efforts with organizational goals.
  • Support the Executive Committee with additional tasks, ensuring alignment with ADSoN’s mission and strategic objectives.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Public Relations, Development Studies, Social Sciences, Business Administration, or a related discipline from a recognized university.
  • A minimum of 2 – 3 years of experience in public relations, fundraising, and resource mobilization, preferably within the non-profit sector.
  • Proven experience in grant writing, donor relations, and managing successful fundraising campaigns.
  • Familiarity with policies and regulations related to disabilities, children’s rights, and gender equality is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills in both English and Nepali (written and verbal).
  • Proficiency in social media management, report writing, and Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and build relationships with donors, stakeholders, and the public.
  • Leadership abilities, with the capacity to inspire teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

3. Project Officer (1 position)

The Project Officer will support the Project Manager in planning, implementing, and monitoring project activities. They will coordinate with stakeholders, prepare reports, and ensure timely execution of tasks to meet project objectives. This role demands strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to empowering Persons with Disabilities.

Key Performance Areas and Main Responsibilities

  • Assist in the planning, implementation, and monitoring of project activities related to education, rehabilitation, and empowerment of persons with disabilities.
  • Ensure that the project activities are aligned with the goals and objectives set by ADSoN.
  • Ensure timely regulatory approvals including renewal of registration with District Administration, Social Welfare Council, Tax Authorities, etc. with the support of Project Manager.
  • Coordinate and communicate with project stakeholders, including beneficiaries, local partners, and government entities.
  • Organize and participate in meetings, workshops, and training sessions to enhance project effectiveness.
  • Regularly track the progress of project activities, ensuring they are on schedule and within budget.
  • Assist in preparing reports on project progress, outcomes, and challenges.
  • Maintain accurate records of project activities, financial transactions, and reports.
  • Prepare progress reports and documentation for internal and external stakeholders, including donors and government agencies.
  • Manage logistics, including materials and equipment needed for project implementation.
  • Ensure the efficient use of resources, helping to maintain the project’s sustainability and impact.
  • Support in organizing training, workshops, and awareness programs for project beneficiaries and staff.
  • Provide technical assistance and guidance to local partners and field teams.
  • Work closely with other project team members and departments to ensure the smooth execution of the project.
  • Contribute to team meetings and share relevant information to improve project outcomes.
  • Perform any other tasks or duties assigned by the Project Manager to support the project’s success.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Development Studies, Social Sciences, Education, Public Health, or a related discipline from a recognized university.
  • At least 1-2 years of experience in support of project management, coordination, or implementation in fields such as disability, education, health, livelihood, or social development.
  • Experience working with local communities, NGOs, or government bodies is highly desirable.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and Nepali, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and basic knowledge of project management tools.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to adapt to changing project needs.

4. Finance Officer – Part Time (1 position):

The Finance Officer will manage the financial operations of the project, including budgeting, accounting, and financial reporting. They will ensure compliance with financial policies, maintain accurate records, and support audits. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to transparency and accountability.

Key Performance Areas and Main Responsibilities

  • Provide clear guidelines for timely and accurate accounting reports and offer oversight for all project and program financial activities.
  • Monitor and ensure financial accuracy in all project work, ensuring compliance with ADSoN’s financial policies.
  • Prepare the annual financial plan and budget for ADSoN, aligning it with the organization’s goals and projects.
  • Ensure effective management of financial resources to support ongoing and upcoming initiatives.
  • Continuously monitor, evaluate, and report on the financial performance of ADSoN projects on a monthly basis, identifying areas for improvement and action.
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to the Executive Committee for decision-making.
  • Implement the approved Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and financial policies for ADSoN, ensuring that all financial activities comply with organizational standards.
  • Suggest amendments to financial policies and procedures when appropriate to enhance efficiency and transparency.
  • Liaise with partner I/NGOs, institutions, and stakeholders to ensure proper financial reporting and the provision of receipts.
  • Ensure smooth communication and resolution of financial matters with external partners and donors.
  • Work closely with the Project Manager and staff to provide necessary financial support for education, rehabilitation, and empowerment services to ADSoN’s beneficiaries, ensuring timely disbursements as needed.
  • Coordinate and support program and fundraising activities of ADSoN, ensuring accurate and timely financial data for grant applications and proposals.
  • Assist in preparing and presenting final financial data for proposals in coordination with the Project Manager.
  • Perform other tasks or responsibilities as assigned by the Project Manager or Executive Committee to contribute to the overall success of the organization and projects.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field from a recognized university. A Master’s degree in a relevant field is a plus.
  • At least 1-2 years of experience in finance and accounting, preferably in the non-profit sector or with organizations working on social development projects.
  • Experience in preparing budgets, financial planning, and financial reporting.
  • Familiarity with financial software and accounting systems is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and provide recommendations for financial management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), particularly Excel for budgeting and reporting.
  • Knowledge of fund accounting and understanding of financial policies in the development sector.
  • Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail and high standards of accuracy in financial documentation and reporting.
  • Good organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including donors, project teams, and partners.
  • Proactive approach to problem-solving with a strong ethical foundation and commitment to transparency.
  • Knowledge of local financial regulations and familiarity with grant management processes is an advantage.
